Full-Time Paid Temporary Community Health Outreach Worker

- Flexible Hours (some in-person events on weekends and evenings)
- Flexible in-person and telework schedule. Laptop will be provided. (at least 2 days in the office)
- Will need own transportation to Washington County Health Department. From the health department any driving out into the community a state vehicle will be provided.
Job Description
NATURE OF WORK
The applicant will work part-time under the supervision of the Healthy Washington County co-chairs on the Go For Bold initiative (G4B). They will assist with the coordination of the Washington County Health Department’ mini grants to 8 G4B partners to conduct activities to increase physical activity and nutrition in Washington County. They will assist the grant coordinator in overseeing the mini grants, promoting partner activities, and assisting signing up community members on the Go For Bold Weight Tracker. The applicant will work part-time on the Washington County Health Department’s Syphilis Media Campaign grant by assisting with implementing and evaluating community feedback surveys on campaign material prior to launch, creating a community resource guide, and working with partners on grassroot media delivery.
EXAMPLES OF WORK
- Communicates with G4B Partners on progress of grant goals
- Attends G4B Partner events to set up a vendor table to sign up new users for the Weight Tracker and provide education on physical activity, nutrition and mental health.
- Assists G4B Partners with promoting their grant activities in the community and through social media
- Create STI resource guide for Washington County
- Implements and evaluates community feedback surveys on Syphilis media campaign materials.
- Communicates and travels to partner organizations and business to deliver Syphilis print campaign materials
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of English grammar
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
