Meet the new Director of WCHD’s Nursing Division: Rhonda Reid!
Rhonda Reid, MSN, RN, CCCT, has been in the nursing profession for 38 years, initially starting as a LPN graduate from Career Studies Center, currently known as Tech High. She then furthered her education, obtaining an Associate of Science in Nursing Degree from Shepherd College, then a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Organizational Leadership from Mountain State University, followed by a MSN with a concentration in Leadership from Walden University. Last spring, she studied for and took an exam to be certified as a health care professional in Care Coordination and Transition Management (CCCTM), and is currently enrolled in a DNP (Doctorate of Nursing Practice) program at Capella University and will be starting a Capstone project in public health in the fall to finish this degree.
Her nursing experience includes medical/surgery, cardiac, telemetry, labor and delivery work, and as a nurse educator at Washington County Hospital. She has had previous state service, working at Western Maryland Hospital Center, the Washington County Health Department, and Frederick County Department of Social Services. Her most recent position was working as Program Manager for the Hagerstown Community Based Outreach Center for Veterans through the Martinsburg Veterans’ Administration Medical Center.
Her love for public health is what inspired her to return to WCHD as Director of Community Health Nursing. She welcomes the opportunity to give back to the community that has so graciously supported her in achieving her personal and professional goals.
