Loan Vo of the nursing division has been selected as the employee of the quarter. Loan has been with the health department since May 2013, and is the coordinator of special programs with Healthy Families Washington County™. As coordinator, Loan has taken the program to new heights the last few years, through her leadership, efforts to bring in funding, goal setting and caring for the clients directly – really
working to be sure the community learns and thrives with the support of the program.
During these last two years of COVID-19, Loan has been very supportive of her team. She was always there to answer questions and help guide team members through the use of new technologies necessary for the work. She would take her time, listen and help the team get through problems. During an accreditation process with Healthy Families America (HFA), COVID-19 restrictions made things challenging. Interviews normally done in person with the HFA team and the health department staff had to take place on the Google Meets platform instead. Loan made sure her team was well-prepared for these interviews, using role-playing exercises for practice. Documents that would normally be submitted in paper form had to be sent through electronic files instead and she made sure this happened in a timely manner. Some team members were ill during COVID-19, and Loan always supported anyone with illness or other personal struggles, through her understanding and empathy. Loan is a great asset to the organization.
