Jennifer Smith, who works in the medical records area of the nursing division, was selected as the employee of the quarter.
Jennifer began work at the health department in January 1980! She has gone above and beyond for not just her own team, but for staff throughout the organization, donating her time without issue. She has covered clinics outside of her scope of work at times, stepping up and taking on challenges without batting an eye. Jennifer is always polite and understanding to the clients and has the utmost patience, most importantly with children coming in for services. She works tirelessly to meet the needs of the community, working with the schools and at outreach events to help area families and children be their healthiest. She has been great at reducing barriers by tracking extra time with clients to ensure all necessary paperwork is complete. Jennifer was instrumental during the COVID-19 pandemic. She was readily available and there for the health department’s teams, even when she was dealing with challenges outside of work herself. Her work ethic fills our mission to promote healthy behaviors, prevent disease and injury and safeguard the environment. She never complains about any work given, makes sure all the “t’s” are crossed and always has a smile when asked to assist. Jennifer never seems to say, “No!” to the benefit of all who work with her!
