Denise Johnson of the nursing team at the Washington County Health Department was named Employee of the Quarter for the second quarter of calendar year 2026. Denise is a registered nurse who has served in the organization for more than 17 years.
Her nomination notes that Denise, “in many instances, has gone above and beyond for clients, offering compassion and care, actively listening and always providing resources from within, as well as outside of our organization.” With Denise, “clients are given the opportunity to speak freely and openly in a safe space, and many continually praise her in feedback surveys we offer, voicing their appreciation for how much she cares about them and her job.”
The nomination goes on to state that Denise’s “co-workers enjoy working with her, and she has stepped in on many occasions to assist with teaching new staff about our programs and services. She maintains exceptional documentation for medical records of clients, and demonstrates compassion for public health, making her an exemplary person for the nursing division and the health department as a whole.”
