April 7-13, 2025
Whereas, public health improves the health of communities by preventing the spread of disease and promoting healthy lifestyles in a clean and safe environment; and
Whereas, public health addresses the root causes of health inequity to build a more equitable and dependable health system/or all Marylanders; and
Whereas, public health practitioners work tirelessly to forge partnerships and connections throughout the community to improve all aspects of health and wellness; and
Whereas, public health workers also assess and investigate factors that influence community health, championing policies and continuous improvement to leave no Marylander behind; and
Whereas, Maryland is committed to improving the health and quality of life of our residents and their communities and recognizing the contributions of all public health practitioners in our state.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, WES MOORE, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF MARYLAND, do hereby proclaim APRIL 7-13, 2025 as PUBLIC HEALTH WEEK in Maryland, and do commend this observation to all of our citizens.
