On Wednesday, May 25, 2022, the Tobacco Free for Life Program is sponsoring a family friendly event at Hagerstown’s City Park to celebrate World No Tobacco Day. From 4:30pm – 6:30pm, participants will visit vendor tables where they will participate in a tobacco prevention activity and get their “passport” signed. After completing the vendor walk, participants turn in their “passport” and receive a food ticket redeemable at the concession stand that night only. In addition, turning in their “passport” will enter them into a drawing for great prizes including a grand prize of a Sky Zone Family Fun Pack. Several performances will be taking place in the Band shell beginning at 5:00pm including the Jazz Band from Barbara Ingram School for the Arts and a Spoken Word performance.
This event is FREE, open to the public and fun for all ages! Event will be held rain or shine.
Cigarettes are the most littered item in the world! Littered cigarette butts leach toxic chemicals into the environment and can contaminate water, which can poison fish and other animals who ingest cigarette butts. World No Tobacco Day is the perfect time to bring awareness to the impact of cigarette butt litter, as well as promote tobacco prevention and cessation.
