Meet the new Director of WCHD’s Nursing Division: Laila Bunker!
Prior to becoming a Nurse in 2008, Laila was a Veterinary Technician for 15 years. She spent her first 5 years at the bedside as a Labor & Delivery RN at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She then transitioned into a permanent Charge Nurse position on the same L/D unit for an additional 5 years. A management opportunity arose in 2018 which she accepted, managing a L/D, Postpartum, and a Special Care Nursery in Carlisle, PA. Now, Laila is here at WCHD as the director of the Community Health Nursing division. Community health has been a passion of Laila’s for many, many years and now she is excited to have to privilege to be a part of making a difference in the community we serve.
Laila has been married to her husband, John, for almost seven years. She has three children, a daughter and two sons, and in December she welcomed her first grandchild. She is an avid animal lover and currently has two boxers, four horses, and several cats. She loves to travel, spend time with her family and friends, read and craft in her spare time.
