Prevent type 2 diabetes with this free lifestyle change program offered online!

The National Diabetes Prevention Program (National DPP) is an evidence-based lifestyle change program for preventing type 2 diabetes. It can help people cut their risk of developing type 2 diabetes in half! In this year-long program, you will work with a trained lifestyle coach to adopt healthy lifestyle habits to help you lose weight in order to prevent or delay type 2 diabetes.

Participants in this class will receive a scale to weigh themselves on as well as other healthy lifestyle supports. Participants will also be able to participate in a free blood-pressure self-monitoring program.

Classes start October 26! To register, email danielle.stahl@maryland.gov or call 240-313-3302.

Anyone who has prediabetes or is at risk for type 2 diabetes and is overweight is eligible!* Take the prediabetes risk test to find out if you are at risk.

Learn more about the program here.

*People who have Medicaid HealthChoice MCO insurance are not eligible to participate in this program and should contact their insurance if they wish to enroll in a diabetes prevention program.
