DESCRIPTION:Unused and expired medications can be dangerous when in the wrong hands – those of your children\, there friends or someone visiting your home and taking things that don’t belong to them. Do you part to help clean up your community by cleaning out your closets\, drawers and medicine chests of unused medications and bringing them for safe disposal to the Washington County Health Department’s next Drug Take Back. \nSaturday\, Oct. 29\, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.\, team members of the prevention unit at behavioral health services will join partners from Washington Goes Purple and the Hagerstown Police Department in the parking lot of 925 N. Burhans Blvd.\, in Hagerstown\, to collect unused\, unwanted and expired medications from anyone dropping off\, with no questions asked. \nItems accepted that day include: \n\nControlled and non-controlled prescription medications\nOver-the-counter medications\nPet medications\nMedicated ointments/lotions\nSyringes\nLiquids\n\nThe following health care and medical items will not be accepted on-site at the event: \n\nThermometers\nIV bags\nOxygen tanks\nDurable medical supplies\nBlood or infectious waste\n\nIf you have questions or need additional information on this event\, please call 240-313-3310.
